We are back in the Wistari Village, a village of Wood Elves located in the heart of the Western Reach of the Hollow.
In the last session, they had killed between 50 and 60 Xvarts at the location of Taughannock Falls. It is a short walk on the east side of the river to get there from Wistari. They call it the River Way.
This is the date in which many, many Xvarts were killed at Taughannock Falls.
Cast invisibility on the entire party. We find a place to dock the bolt. We head up the river, we approach from the east side. No guard contingent around the area, 4 xvarts on the lower pulley system, 4 on the upper, raised to high point.
Since we are invisible, to bypass the xvarts, 4 in 6 chance. We head for the path under the falls.
Randimir kicks a stone, goes rolling, Xvarts looking. I use psionic invisibility. Continue on our way, best to continue moving on…xvart is waving to another one. Gestures to a rope Shakes the rope, scan the area and looks perplexed. We move up the switchback path, slower than we normally would. looking for markings and such. About halfway up the path, passed the place where they were bombarded in the previous session. Fandilas notices a hole a few feet up in the cliffside face. Goes into the cliffside face.
Grabs my hand and points out a hole, Glowing orange eyes. Staring at my soul. I wrote in the ground Xvart > Should I open, Y or N…I check Y…
Handle moves easily, carefully concealed secret door. Grinding noise on the floor. Exclamations of alarm come through eye hole.
Count at least 8 of them. Xvarts. Weasel alerts him to the danger, Xvart misses since we won surprise. It appears to be a large room. Maervahr saves Fandilas, Galerius runs inside!
Silhouettes, tunnels in the back. 16 Xvarts. 6' long sword, full sweep attack. Randimir follows in, Galarius cuts down 3 of them. They were prepared for a charge. 5 will retaliate with spears. One spear strikes and takes 12 damage.
Fandilas casts sleep. Only 2 are remaining. Fandilas moves into combat. Galarius and Randimir kill 2 more.
I pull out my lantern. Randimir heals Galarius for 8. Fandilas is using the Scimitar which is glowing. Randimir brought a ring that is attuning to him.
Xvart sized spears 3' long. 16 of them.
134 sp.
Room has numerous cots, crude with foliage based bedding. Dried sticks and logs, not comfortable. 16 guards slain, two have stairs going up.
To the left, corridor stretches to areas unknown, 6“ per turn. Roll for surprise, we get a 3. Go down the hallway, hear noise up ahead. Small creatures in room beyond the corridor.
Fandilas charges also. we are at 6”, I go psionically invisible. Galarius and Fandilas charge forth. Another barracks, another 16 xvarts, wielding swords.
AC 7 no type. Fandilas gets a +4 to attack and damage. Scimitar +4!!
7 xvarts are slain by charge. Retaliating against charge.
2 xvarts have harpoons, 1 has a net. 1 hits Galarius, for 2 damage. None hit Fandilas.
I run in to flank the Xvarts. There is a single tunnel, Randimir charges into the rear of the melee. All 4 hits, killed. Randimir missed.
We cut down the rest of the Xvarts, all slain amongst the barracks. 1 turn passes after combat. We explore the room.

We head north from this room, Rool for surprise. Party enters a large chamber, light falls over a huge group of xvarts, these are unarmed, women. Dont look like normal xvarts, furniture, random objects, lounge room. More glowing eyes, many women in the room. Looks at us frozen in place with inaction. Some have knives or small clubs, sling bullet pouches.
I cast Lightning Bolt on the women Xvart. Galarius and Fandilas charge into battle, 60 women. Galarius and Fandilas Fandilas hits one Galarius hits twice, 12 and 6 damange. Hit one for 5 damage. 8 of them fall to Sleep. 11 are dropped. 9 blasted instantly. We kill 23 of them some pull out knives, others take out clubs.
Galarius has 8 attacks against him. Disregard, Fandilas cast Sleep. 12 Xvarts go to sleep.
Randimir also cast sleep. He puts 10 to sleep. All are dropped that were attacking Randimir. Maervahr moves into the room. 1 hits Galarius. takes 2 damage. Another 5 are charging. Galarius can attack the retaliation 4 times with sweep attacks. kills 3 of them. 2 more make it to him. Attacking with clubs. One bashes his armor.
4 charging Randimir AC 3, these have knives. None hit. 4 attacks on Fandilas. Hit on 17s, two hit fandilas he takes 2 damage total.
Morale check. Ravenously fight on to defend their homes. 3 attack Randimir and miss. Fandilas is missed. 5 against Galarius.None hit Galarius.
3 dead, Randimir has 3, 1 on Fandilas. only 3 remain standing? Galarius killed 2 Fandilas hits 3 times and kills it. None manage to strike a blow on Randimir. Only one in melee. Randimir kills one with mace. Now we are in melee with 2 last ones.
We kill the last 3!
Big common room, heavy stench of Xvarts. We kill the sleeping xvarts. Nothing of value in here.
Roll for surprise.
Lantern light falls upon a nursery. 8 Xvart women stand amongst juveniles. Holding baubles. 8 women.
40 juveniles. Galarius and randimir charge forward. 8 throw rocks at them. Illuminated by the swords, I web 1/3rd of the group.
3 are dead.
Women and children retaliate. women only, 3 of the women attack. Randimir and Galarius targets. Randimir takes 1 damage. Killed 9 juveniles killed.
Morale roll, 3 women charge! Fandilas is stabbed for 4 damage.
17 juveniles try to overbear. 6 on 2 people, 5 on Fandilas.
2 get through to Fandilas and Randimir. Fandilas shrugs off the juvenile attacks, 3 xvart females.
I cast Burning Hands. Galarius kills 2 with punches Burning hands go off, 11 dead juveniles, fan of flames. 1 of the women is killed
2 women and 8 juveniles left.
Only two left, we attack with normal sweep attacks. These women do not have anything of value. Paddle with rubber ball attached, Fandilas grabs it.
Killed all 68 of them. Eliminated all, nothing of value.
Terrible smell becomes known to us. Doesnt smell like undead, smells like excrament. We can see a smaller corridor We go south down a hallway, The smell is OVERPOWERING. We avoid the smelly room, and head to the East. Another corridor on the right. We come to a smaller chamber, small room for occupants, no cots or anything, random knick knacks, broken wood. Small barrel in the NW corner. 3 spears sticking out. I snap the spears.
We head further east and corridor turns, room with 4 cots and 4 footlockers. A little nicer than barracks. Xvart blades. Randimir spell doesnot detect traps

We head north. Poke our heads around the corner. Roll Surprise.
Sees a group of 6 xvarts with spears. Standing around a corner. Corridor continues.
Maervahr moves to engage in melee. Goes psionically invisible. Galarius and Fandilas charge forth. Meet up in the corridor beyond.
They are using Maces. Both maces hit Galarius for 9 damage!
Also carrying a lantern. Lights up the area. Something might inform them of what is up. When we move up. We see forms in the corridor to the north, covered in fur, man sized. Terrible claws, heads of rats!
I attack the non leader Randimir casts Web. 2 segments. 1 segment spell goes off, target is Galarius. He is level 4. Enchantment overtakes Galarius, falls to the ground. Words of magic.
Fandilas needs to save vs spell. Fandilas becomes unwieldy and becomes impossible to hold. 2.4 inches per segment. Fandilas and Randimir are the only two targets for the rats. Both going for Fandilas. Fandilas takes 5 damage.
2 leaders are attacking one attacks Randimir. Misses Fandilas. Randimir casts cause fear. We cannot see what is back there, the spell caster. Wand of Fear. 6“ cone, 2” diameter.
Randimir and Fandilas are up. Dagger does not land. Fandilas takes 4 damage. One rat men is terrorized for 4 rounds
I cast Mirror Image Randimir casts hold person. 2 were rats. 2 leaders and 1 regular xvarts
One wererat is overcome with terror and flees north. 1 of the robed figures shoots flames toward party. Flames shoot out and strike Fandilas and Randimir for 2 damage from flames. Randimir loses his spell.
3 Images on Maervahr. Fandilas's Breath. Unleashes the full strength of fire, 20' wide column, completely envelops the wererat and overtaking all the wererats. Singing roasting corpses of the wererats are now unmoving. 3 magic user xvarts trying to stab Fandilas. None of the daggers hit.
Both hits Randimir 5 damage, 6 damage to Fandilas. Fandilas drops. 4 robed xvarts, 1 regular and 2 leaders. Randimir has AC 3
None of them hit Randimir. Hold Person goes off. All 3 xvarts are held in place. 4 cloaked xvarts.
Flaming spiders crawl up all the xvarts, screaming trying to brush flaming spiders off body. 2 held xvarts pass out from pain.
Does not think its an illusion! Xvart passes out. I use Clairaudience on the door behind us. Hear only silence beyond.

Wererats do not have treasure
We retreat through the secret door to the surface level. Roll for surprise. We come outside from the secret door. On the upper platform.
Randimir casts Hold Person. Finishes spell. They need 20s, one got a 20, saved. Nudges his friend. Galarius flings his javelin. 2 damage. Javelin strikes but is not killed. Flings a harpoon at Galarius. Grabs harpoon off frozen buddy.
Natural 20, harpoon hits Randimir for 2 damage. Stripped of all weapons, throws a sword at us. If it hits 1d4, precariously past Maervahr.
Galerius hits, 6 damage. Maervahr lands on the edge, Platform goes tumbling to the falls below as I burn it with burning hands.
