Our travel on the road to Qarn from Criss Antha is uneventful and we will be leaving on the 6th.
There is nothing much happening in Criss Antha.
We arrive in Qarn, a city situated upon a large lake. There are some adventurers here in Qarn and some of them have been making expeditions into the deep waters of the lake. It is said that treasure has been pulled up from time to time.
Kek hires 3 Porters and 1 Linkboy here in Qarn.
We set out from Qarn and make our way to the Ruined City of Delbo. After several hours, we arrive at the walls of Delbo.
The group heads toward the burial site of the Ursine Bear which remains undisturbed and head further beyond to enter the cave. There is a 5' wide passage that we follow for some time until we make it to the door on the left that we found before.
We hear a steady voice inside that could be human voice.
Rhinock and Kek open the door.
They push open the door and enter the room with crates. Digging through one of the crates is the same Wight creature we slew outside last time.
Kek hits for 9 damage and the creature swings with its stump, Rhinock is struck for 8 damage. Rhinock hits back again for 10 damage.
The creature does not appear to be any kind of illusion but it crumples to the ground, unmoving.
Maervahr severs the head and puts it inside a crate. Rhinock looks inside the crate that it was searching inside but finds nothing.
We lift open the door to the right and find a rolled up ladder.
The key to the shrine does not work to open the pantry door. Meanwhile, Kek and Wine look through the crates. Wine finds rotten food and some containers with their contents poured out. Searching along the north wall, we determine that it seems solid.
Rhinock tries to bust down the door but fails then we pry open the hinge and knock it out. Kek bangs open the lock then we pry down the top of the door, revealing shelves beyond.
We can see a wine bottle on one shelf. Rhinock finds the latch to open the door from the inside and it snaps off allowing the rest of the door to open.
The door to the room closes behind us.
Maervahr's Shield spell goes off and we are also Blessed by Wine. Rhinock and Kek fail to open the door that leads out from the room.
Some invisible creatures attack us and they hit on a 9. Rhinock is sliced twice by something unseen and must save versus poison twice. Rhinock fails and loses 1 DEX.
Kek also fails his save versus poison and his muscles lock up a bit and he loses 1 DEX.
Maervahr takes 1 and 2 damage from these unseen creature and takes 2 DEX damage.
Suddenly, drops of black smoke appear and strike at something. There is a Demonic screech from somewhere echoing in the air.
Kek takes 1 damage and loses 2 DEX.
All 3 attacks hit Wine and he takes 6 damage and must save versus poison 3 times. Wine also loses 2 DEX.
Rhinock cuts in the direction of the smoking form and connects. He thinks this invisible creature is something that is flying in the air and seems smaller than a man. Something howls demonically when he hits followed by a fluttering noise that trails out of the room. It seems to have ran up against the wall and then disappeared.
There is 14 rounds left on Shield and Kek opens the trapdoor after 5 rounds in the room.
The unopened cherry wine we grabbed has 1-212 as the Date. This date is old and goes back to a time when other civilizations had different calendars. Wine takes a sip of some nasty wine.
Someone decides to spray the nasty ass wine all over the room. While that happens, we notice that there is some red chalk in this room and it looks like blood chalk, which is used to draw magic circles. The downside of using chalk for that is that it is not going to last very long. It is normally used to quickly draw any type of magic sigils.
We also find some hand cloths on the table and some crumpled up cloth. Rhinock notices a red-orange residue while Kek looks at the door. Near the door is a shelf with a wooden handled knife that has a rounded wooden handle but the blade is made of steel.
On the table is an empty, thin stone bowl. Wine pours a little wine into it but nothing happens.
We open the door and the first thing we notice is a door to the left and then a crumpled up skeleton that appears like it took some extraordinary damage. Near to the bone pile is a near brownish black stick that is no thinner than a finger.
The Find Traps spell is still going. On the far wall, there is sunlight that comes through a window. In front of the window is a faintly drawn trapezoid, a red color staining on the ground. There are twists and shapes inside of it. The trapezoidal sigil is drawn with the faintest staining.
Maervahr checks out the stick and finds that it is made of oil oak. It looks like a wand and there is some writing on it. Rhinock checks out the writing on the stick using his Helm of Comprehending Languages and Reading Magic. The script rearranges itself into a pronounceable word in Common.
The arcane circle in a trapezoidal shape is extremely faint, even in the light. Just outside the window behind the shape are the Ruins of Delbo, in the south direction that we normally come in through. We are currently on the same level as the wall from inside the single standing tower.
Rhinock tries to open the window but there are no handles on the window to open it. Someone has a military fork polearm that is is 7' long. Wine is holding the north door open.
We decide to continue so are going to open the east door. After a few rounds, we finally opened it on the 3rd round.
Inside we find a curved wall with two doors and 13 Disgusting Blob creatures, one is crawling off the glass case to the left which contains huge marbles the size of fists. The Blobs have lips stretch out and snap. Their long arms are made of blotchy stuff and they leave behind puddles of goop.
Rhinock takes 2 damage as they hit.
Kek does 5 and 7 damage respectively and Rhinock hits one for 9 damage. Rhinock deals a severe blow to one of them and Kek causes one to lose its composition.
Another 4 damage from Rhinock and 7 damage from Kek. Rhinock destroys this other Blob creature.
The rest of the creatures move into the room. Maervahr is casting Lightning Bolt through the door which obliterates all but one of the them in the doorway!
Now there is a column of goop that is in the way.
Rhinock hits one for 9 damage and Kek hits for 2 damage. The Blobs hit by the Lightning Bolt regain their form. Maervahr moves toward the north door and prepares to throw a burning oil flask.
Kek hits for one for 10 damage and another 11 damage destroys one. There are now 6 creatures and one other is moving toward Wine. There are 12 creatures in melee total.
None of them hit Rhinock but one hits Kek for 3 damage. There are 6 attacks on Wine: 1 hit for 2 damage. 2 more hits for 4 damage. 1 hit for 1 damage. The Blobs continue to regenerate from the Lighting Bolt.
Maervahr opens the door while Kek does 2 damage. 1 hits Rhinock and he takes 1 damage. Now there are 4 more attacks on Kek with 1 hit for 3 damage. There are 3 Blob attacks on Wine and 1 hit for 4 damage.
13 of the Blob creatures regenerate more hitpoints while they continue to attack us! 1 hits Rhinock for 3 damage. 5 attacks are on Kek and Wine takes 2 for 3 damage. 2 more attacks against Wine, WINE DROPS!
3 hits on Rhinock for 4 points of damage. Kek is in the doorway now and Wine is pooling blood from the creatures. Kek takes 3 damage.
4 more hits on Kek for 12 damage and he is now fleeing.
4 more hits on Kek for 9 damage, KEK DROPS!
Maervahr's oil flask does 6 damage to all creatures in doorway and they seem to be damaged by the fire. He goes Invisible and is able to effect up to 7 HD from his Psionic Invisibility.
The Blobs begin to form a big mass as Maervahr goes Psionically Invisible. Suddenly, the air in front of Maervahr opens into a magical Gate…and a Vrock Type I Demon steps into the room from the Abyss!
Rhinock Charges the demon and hits for 13 DAMAGE!
The Vrock cannot see me so it attacks Rhinock on a -1 on an 11. The first 2 attacks hit and the attacks do 6 damage. Suddenly, in an area of 5', our vision goes completely black.
Maervahr steps out of the area and can see a 5' radius column of pitch black darkness. At this point the Vrock Demon teleports to Maervahr and attacks. However, he is unable to hit him and heads further away.
Meanswhile, Maervahr manages to get Rhinock's body out of the tower from the window…
He gets them on their mounts and we head back to Qarn as quickly as we can.
We sell the wand for 1000 gp and pay 100 gp for a Cure Light Wounds at the local temple. After the sale of the wand there is 200 gp left over which is taken by Rhinock.
THE SUMMONED VROCK IS LOOKING FOR MAERVAHR!
It hisses foul breath all over Kek's body. Eventually Wine regains consciousness and is able to crawl out with Kek's body. They head out of the tower through the same window and head to the ruined wall and are safe, more or less, as they hunker down on top of the walls of Delbo. Their mounts are no longer around and there is a large amount of blood around where they were located.
The next day Maervahr heads back to Delbo to rescue the other two companions. He arrives safely and manages to get them back to Qarn.
Kek and Wine are rescued, they arrive back on Rose Moon the 15th.
The magic wand was sold for 1000 and all gold went to healing for Rhinock. Kek and Wine stay back in Qarn to recover and then Rhinock and Maervahr leave for Criss Antha to consult with Sages about the wand and the Slime Creatures.
Sages hope that the wand was not used for evil but it sounds as though the creature summoned was looking for the user of the wand. It is known that once they are summoned they can stay on this plane for as long as they want. They can stay for all eternity under normal conditions.
Sage believes that the Blob Creatures we fought were Lemurs, only destroyed by a holy weapon or by holy water.
Next Session, we will go to HIGH DELL to meet with SHIN and the Sphinx.
We each get 325 xp.
