Randimir caught an acute gastrointestinal disease but it was cured by Dalakai Deathbane.
We check for Mercenaries in Gren.
We pay for 5 Heavy Hobilars and two Linkboys.
Maervahr listens with Psionic Clairaudience to a distant location: down the chute that Morric once levitated down and heard demonic chittering.
We are heading back to the Marble Keep to deal with this Green Dragon once and for all.
Our travel across the southern plain is uneventful and outside everything is quiet. There is no movement outside of the Marble Keep. There is the main entrance and the side entrance. We head toward the collapsed tower and find the entrance that is only opened a little bit. All of the rubble has now been removed and leading down is the big hole.
Kek, Galerius, and Dalakai are on doors. We descend through the side trap door and come to another door that we fail to open. After several turns, we get the door open.
We come into a huge yawning room dominated by massive pit going straight down. It has sheer sides and is circular with no railing. High above the pit is a big metal grate with the clouds visible outside. Sitting there on a ledge is a Gargoyle silhoutted against the dark sky.
Randimir casts Find Traps.
We grab onto the rope and make a line for the staircase. We cannot see the bottom of the pit but there is a flash of light that is temporarily blocked by the figure of the Gargoyle.
Dan is invisible.
Suddenly, the Gargoyle drops down and descends in a dive towards Dalakai. He gains a +2 vs the Gargoyle due to Protection from Evil.
Fandilas fires some Magic Missiles which hit for 12 damage. Others fire some arrows which bounce off harmlessly. The Gargoyle undeterred, continues divebombing.
Dalakai misses the Gargoyle which attacks Dalakai. Dalakai has AC 1 and takes 1 damage. Galerius grapples the Gargoyle. Using a magic dagger Iskandar attacks.
Iskandars attack goes first since a dagger is fast. It is determined that the Sleep spell does effect Gargoyles but it does shrug off the enchantment. Gargoyle fends off Grapple and counter attacks Galerius. He has AC 4/4 and Galerius takes 6 points of damage.
Casting Sleep knocked Dan out of Invisibility and now the Gargoyle is near Galerius. It will attack Kek and Dalakai but Kek is attacked. Kek is at -2 AC but the horn hits for 2 points of damage.
Randimir knocks it to sleep and the Gargoyle is extremely heavy. Dalakai can hit it with a +1 longsword and he decapitates it!
The Gargoyle is destroyed.
Iskandar's dagger is at least a +1.
We descend down into the pit and the bottom comes into view. On the ground are seven humanoid corpses stripped of all flesh. The corpses were wearing chainmail and had longswords. The bodies appear to be Elf sized. We determine that these bodies were from a group we encountered several months ago. The chainmail is not magic Elfin Chain and the bones of the skeletons have many bite size wounds. They look like they were all scraped clean.
The motif of the dungeon construction changes to a cavern at the bottom which has 20' wide cavern passageways.
We are using a magic glowing sword and 2 hooded lanterns for illumination. We notice that the chainmail armor all have a small sigil on it. We did not grab the chainmail and swords from the Elven remains.
We are headed southward bound and have a 6” movement. The group heads left multiple times and we are heading north now.
The determination point is a natural cavern up ahead. We take a turn to the right from there.
This area is a funky termination point. We notice that behind us there is something moving in the darkness.
Maervahr goes Psionically Invisible and steps to the side. Dalakai moves up and we are in our 20' formation.
Out of the blackness come 3 Demonic Creatures with long claws and solid white eyes. Kek charges into the creatures which are MANES DEMONS.
He makes his attacks using a normal longsword which slices one of the creatures. Kek has AC 4 and the Manes Demons get 2 claws and a bite each. He takes 2 damage from a claw and 1 damage from a claw, 3 damage from a bite. There is also 5 damage done to Kek.
Maervahr moves up 2“ away from the Manes Demons while Iskandar casts Magic Missile.
Kek is attacked again and 1 claw does hit him for 2 damage. Dan and Dalakai make their attack rolls. There is a natural 20 roll from Dan as he punches one with Holy Water and Dalakai deals a mighty blow for 7 damage. The Holy Water dissolves the Manes Demon into green gas.
Grappling one of the Demons, Galerius crashes into one of them. The Manes is knocked flat and is stunned for a full round. The Magic Missiles destroy the other two.
We are in a dead end cavern. There are only some old bits of bones and very old rat droppings across the ground. We search the back wall for secret doors. Finding none, we head south, which goes to our left.
Our Cleric only had one Find Traps spell prepared. The natural cavern opens up. There are fewer rat droppings here and as we look up, we can see a rectangular chute that goes up.
We discuss some of our backgrounds and Davlan, who is a Fighter / Thief, was previously a Fisherman.
We have been in the cave for 3 hours so far. There are some scratches on the ground that form a pattern. They look like the markings of the Manes Demons. Otherwise, the area is quiet, cold and earthy smelling. The caves were formed by water from ancient waterways.
After 4.5 hours, we are still exploring the caves and trying to make as little noise as possible.
Morric saw 6 Manes Demons.
We come to a great amphitheater. The way spills open in either direction and we can see an enormous statue of a demon. Strewn all around the statue are stacks of gold, jewelry and gems.
There is also a Green Dragon here.
A look of rage appears over the face of the Green Dragon. Maervahr runs to the side in attempt to flank, the Mercenaries fire crossbows which all bounce off harmlessly.
A Bless spell is cast and now everyone is BLESSED, gaining a +1 to hit. Galerius charges at the dragon and a Lightning Bolt cast by Maervahr hits the Dragon just in front of Galerius. It must save on a 13 and it only takes half damage from the bolt, dealing 6 damage.
Galerius hits dealing 14 damage. The Green Dragon has taken 20 damage so far.
After rolling to determine the action, the Green Dragon attempts to strike Galerius. The Dragon bites him for 14 damage.
There is another Lightning Bolt cast by Maervahr, dealing 8 damage, Magic Missiles are cast and hit it for 11 damage.
The Dragon falls and collapses at the statue base! Blood starts to pool everywhere.
We can get Dragon Hide and the highest quality from Dragon Scales. Galerius is healed for 4 damage.
We gather up some Treasure, including the following coins:
The Green Dragon is decapitated and skinned. We discuss making dragon claw dagger.
The dragon scales can be made into armor which will give an added defense bonus versus the monsters it is immune to, Green Dragon Scale mail has a bonus vs breath weapons. There are also Green Dragon hide boots and Green Dragon scale cloaks.

It will take us 2 turns to get back to the stair case. We return to the surface of the marble keep and head back to Gren.
We victoriously return to GREN! HUZZAH!
The Green Dragon body does not have intrinsic value by itself but after slaying the Dragon of the Marble Keep, somebody in Gren would want to purchase it. The Green Dragon's Head, though mangled, is worth 350 gp. We could get more for it in Criss Antha.

Kek tips 1 pp and pays their next upkeep to the Hobilar Mercenaries. Fenric annoints Iona's spear with a blessing of POISON!
We are traveling on the road.
About 160 yards away is a party of humanoids milling about the courtyard of the Marble Keep. They all bear weapons and are pointing this way and that, toward any that are standing in our sight. One is leaning against a wall. These could be Orcs or Hobgoblins. We notice that they have long noses, like a snout. These fuckers are ORCS!
Iona goes to scout ahead while the rest of the group moves forward. Kek can attack with his bow. Instead of firing, he charges into the courtyard. Iona goes to the opening crack in the wall and peeks in. Kek attacks the one Watchman Orc and does 1 damage. Kek kills the Orc in one hit!
There are 20 Orcs posted around the keep and they do not notice Iona. One of the Orcs is a leader wearing plate mail but the other Orcs wear scale mail and shield.
Sarkas casts Protection From Evil while Kana casts Barkskin. Gromble starts climbing the wall.
The Orcs have AC 4 type 6. A crossbow bolt from a Hobilar kills one Orc and 2 arrows from Kek kills another. There are 3 dead.
Gromble is attacked by one of the Orcs and falls unconscious! Kek and the Hobilars keep shooting.
The Orcs have 25% cover from ranged fire and are wielding spears and shields. Iona goes to tend to Gromble Godhater.
Fenric shoots with his bow at the leader who is 4” away. Iskandar casts Levitate.
The Orcs come out and charge us and there are 18 total left. Another one is killed by Kek. Iskandar loses the Levitate because he is attacked and takes 1 damage.
There are two charging at Fenric and his hit. Fenric takes 3 damage. Oswald has AC 3 and fires a sling bullet that kills one orc, Oswald is hit for 6 damage and is unconscious!
One of the Hobilars is at 1 of 7 hp and another Hobilar is unconscious. Another Hobilar takes 2 of 7 hp.
Sarkas kills another Orc. Heat Metal is cast by Kana on the leader and on the Orc attacking Iskandar. There are still 15 Orcs remaining.
Orcs fail their Morale and start fleeing at full movement. A Dagger hits for 2 damage and another Orc dies.
The Hobilars kill 2 more Orcs. Sarkas kills one as well. Iskandar cast Sleep on 12 of them!
Iona patches up Gromble and Oswald while Kek and Sarkas pursue the Orcs and attack. They are back in normal combat now.
4 damage is inflicted on an Orc which kills one. Sarkas and Kek kill the other three and then we cut them all down.
Sarkas casts Cure Light Wounds on all of them and Iona patches up the Hobilars.
We collect their coin purses.
Kek cuts off the leader's head…but wait. Heat Metal was previously cast. The Orc leader and the other Orc start cooking in their armor and start screaming. The Orcs stand up and start screaming, they both take 5 damage. Maervahr does 2.5 damage to the leader.
Oswald is healed for 1 hp.
NOBODY DIED THIS SESSION!
Next Wednesday, Iona is frozen to finish looting the dragon's chamber.
