This is when Maervahr is finished with his scrolls.
Our plan is to go take on a large camp of Bandits using a large force and our higher level characters.
Phantom Armor was cast by Koriss on Timbraun, Kheskhor and others.
We discuss several aspects of the game, Hippogriff riders must spend 2 rounds getting strapped in before taking off as per the DMG. Longbows cannot be used while mounted. Naginatas can be used while mounted for now. We will get sweep attacks against 1 HD or less creatures.
We are rolling up hp for Mercenaries.
The location is in the Scrublands. Aliisis is in control of all the melee troops and Briiz controls all the archers.
On the first day, Maervahr will scout ahead while invisible.
First day of travel, mostly through rolling hills and into a forest. The weather is cloudy.
We are going up against 100 Bandits.
Not Surprised.
We are flying on our Hippogriffs while invisible, Jacob, Thorgard and Maervahr. We see at a distance of 17“ a tiny individual moving along the ground, humanoid that is only a couple feet tall. Green Clothing and hat is its clothing and its moving at a stroll. Could be a Leprachaun or a Fae creature.
We fly down and warn the party and avoid it.
The rest of the way is uneventful and we encamp north of the ruined village. The weather clears up. We are in the Light Forest hex.
We set up camp and watches. Some characters wear their armor.
The night goes by without incident.
The weather clears up and today, Maervahr will scout ahead. This is the second day of travel heading toward the hills.
The ground party sees nothing, no encounters. Same with the party in the air.
We make it all the way to the Canyon Hex (orange circle). It is 10 miles south west of the Bandit Camp.
There are some ruins made of granite southwest of the camp. In the center is a ruined piece with some stairs leading up. There is not enough grass on the ground to provide cover unless we are flat (prone).
It is clear during the day and during the night. During our camp, Maervahr will cast Invisibility on Jacob. There are no encounter rolls at night.
There is excess heat today. We are approaching from the south west and discuss what positioning we are using.
This was originally a temporary encampment but we spotted it almost a year ago. These huts are made of wood, like algonquin style.
We discuss the strategy of Lygan and the Rod of Rulership.

Maervahr casts Deeppockets, Fly, Shield, Detect Invisibility.
Jacob and Thorgard are in the air and they see a couple of guys running down from the mound. They have seen us from the scrubland. We will go to an encounter distance roll…
Their calvary has chain, shield and longsword. We will check to see how many have their armor on during the nighttime watch. There are 2 units of chain and longsword and 2 units of spear and leather.
There are also 2 units of longsword and leather and 2 units of leather and shortbows. There are other units as well, including some class characters.
Maervahr does not see anyone in robes anywhere, even with Detect Invisibility.
We have tied initiative.
Briiz shoots on segment 2. He must hit AC 2/2. One shot hits for 2 damage. The target has a Halberd.
Segment 5 the Charge Begins!
A bunch of archers fire, one hit a Plate Wearer dealing 3 damage from a Crossbowman, AC 2/2. The others are AC 7/7, Damage is 1, 1, 4, 3, 5, 5. This has killed 4 troops of 6 in that unit.
Maervahr goes Psionically Invisible to 45 HD worth of troops including and mainly the archers.
Aliisis men fire and hit one for 1 damage.
The Infrantry of the enemy are shooting their bows at Aliisis group, there are 4 Archers. There is 1 hit on their group on a Calvary for 2 damage. They have 1d4+3.
There are 4 Archers shooting at Lygan. They miss Lygan.
One shot on the Lieutenant of Briiz and 3 shots on the other guys. The Lieutenant is missed and the other guys are regular, there is 1 hit for 1 damage.
All of the plate wearers are mounted from the Bandits team and they are not able to get into melee. The shortbow archers already fired. This is on Segment 9, and Segment 10 Hold Persons go off.
The Summon Monsters happen on segment 9 but will happen in 1d4 rounds. Hold Person effects #7 and is held for 10 rounds. This was from Tatrin.
Josalyn is casting on #1, #9, #8. #1 is held, #9 is held, #8 is held.
Litlee casts on #10 and they fail their save, they are held.
Uuto does 2 damage to one of the Medium Horsemen as they charge into his spear.
Koriss is hiding behind the wall, Pithor is facing off against a group of longswords. All 6 attack him he has AC 2/3, 3 total hits and he takes 7 damage including his Stoneskin.
There is one attack on a lieutenant and the rest on regular men. 3 Hits on the Crossbowmen and 1 Hit on the Slingers. 4, 5, 5. Slinger takes 6 damage. Slinger is dead and 2 Crossbowmen are dead.
The longsword chargers are on Tatrin (missed) and Uuto is hit for 1 damage. The rest are for 1 Sergeant who takes 4 damage. Crossbow Sergeant took the 4 damage. He has 7 hp total. Slinger takes 6 damage.
The other chargers are attacking Aliisis group. They are the longsword and the spear calvary. 7 Spears and 6 Longsword Calvary. There are 9 medium horsemen. 2 lances are attaching plate wearer #13. Only one hit for 10 damage which kills one Spear Calvary. The other attacks AC 4/4 all miss. Aliisis attacks with a lance using sweep attacks. She does 20 damage on her first attack, 14 damage on second attack, 14 on her third attack and 10 on her 4th attack.
The guys attacking Aliisis group, one of them has a Longsword wreathed in flame. The other person has a Glowing Longsword but there is a strange effect, where they are phasing out. (Ring of Blinking or Displacement)
Of the Spearmen, there are only 3 left alive that are attacking Aliisis Medium Calvary. All these Bandits are Neutral. There is one hit with a spear for 2 damage which kills one guy. The longsword unit #1, with 7 members, all on his dudes. There are 4 hits with a longsword, 6, 8, 3, 8 damage. 3 total dead. There are 6 Calvary left.
The leaders are attacking Aliisis. She has AC 2/2 vs the flaming longsword. They missed Aliisis! Plate #11 hits, STONESKIN!
Thorgard attacks the guy in Full Plate who has AC 0. He misses. The Full Plate wearer and some of the others can retaliate. Thorgard is attacked with a broadsword. He has a -6 to hit. Thorgard is hit, STONESKIN is used. Invisibility is also gone.
Maervahr is high up invisible psionically to all the archers.
We win initiative with lots of segments.
Segment 1 is for bow shots. Lygan is shooting into melee. Lygan hits doing 6 damage. Kills one! Aliisis crossbowmen did 3 and 1 damage. The enemy shortbowmen are moving.
Kheskhor cancels his Sleep spell.
Briiz attacks and hits for 9, 5, 6, 7, killing 4 of them. Josalyn hits one for 6 damage. Killing another! Uuto hits a longsword wielder for 9 damage, killing one.
There are 14 shortsword attacks. First one hits for 5 then 4, 1, 2, 3. This defeats all the AC 7 Spear Unit!
Slingers hit for 4 damage. Sergeant does 5 and 1 and the Lieutenant gets a sweep attack, missing. This kills all of the longsword bandits.
Pithor is surrounded. He kills one with his longsword!
Aliisis Calvary are attacking now. Aliisis says she has the two leaders. There are only one spearmen left. They hit with 1, using a flail. for 5 damage, killing one! Crossbowmen all miss. There are 3 spear and 5 longsword calvary. AC 7/7 for Aliisis's attack. Finally hits for 10 damage, killing a spearmen. Missed 4th attack.
Thorgard gets his first attack, hits for 11 damage against full plate wearer.
Slinger takes 5 damage then Sleep goes off. Every single longswordmen go to sleep, Pithor goes to sleep too.
Segment 3, Stinking Cloud goes off from Maervahr against a group of archers and a leader. One passes their save. Plate guy also fails. It lasts for 1d4+1 rounds.
Jacob attacks the Full Plate Wearer, and he needs a 4 to hit. He hits for 13 damage. Lygan gets his second bow shot. He automatically hits the held guys and does x2 max damage. He does 6 damage.
We killed all the Medium Calvary with longswords. Flaming Longsword guy is sweep attacking the calvary. He does not hit at all! The regular longsword guy attacks Aliisis after dismounting. He misses.
The Heavy Warhorse Calvary goes after the melee guys. The Horses do 2 and 2, killing one of them! There are two more hits dealing 3 damage. Then another 1 damage, which eliminates the Spearmen unit. They do 1 damage to the chainmail wearers, then they hit twice with the horses, dealing 5 damage then 2 damage with a bite. This kills another one of them. There are now 4 left in that chainmail group. One guy attacks Aliisis with a medium horse. There are no hits from the horse. There are still 4 horses left in that group. They do 4 damage on a calvary men, who has 2 hp left and then 5 damage which kills one of Aliisis men.
One of the archers in the Stinking Cloud runs backwards away from the fight. The Shortbowmen are firing at the people down south, attacking Timbraun who has AC 3/3 due to Phantom Armor. None hit.
The other ones fire at Kheskhor but there are no hits on him due to Kheskhor. There are 2 attacks on Jacob. miss. Thorgard is missed. Full plate wearer hits Thorgard for 13 damage!
Thorgard missed but Jacob does 11 damage. The guys down south all die.
At the end of round 2, all of the non Jacob group of opponents are incapacitated.
There are horse attacks for the group on Jacob. Nevermind, they will not get any attacks.
Everyone is running away. All of the classed characters are fleeing. Allisis attacks a plate mail wearer. Aliisis misses.
Jacob is going after the group leader for 10 damage and Thorgard hit the leader for 11 damage. The Hippogriff hits nothing. Thorgard's Hippogriff misses.
The other group with the magic swords is fleeing too. They get away from Maervahr's Confusion spell and it fizzles out.
They do not escape from the pursuit. Nor do the ones pursued by Timbraun and Litlee.
